LEXINGTON, Ky., Aug. 7, 2025 — The Public Relations Society of America Thoroughbred Chapter is now accepting nominations for its 2025 Awards, which recognize outstanding work and leadership in the field of public relations and communications throughout Central and Eastern Kentucky.

Nominations are open now through Monday, Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. ET, and winners will be honored at an awards ceremony this November.

The competition features five distinct award categories:

  • Communicator of the Year – For a non-PR professional who has communicated exceptionally well in the public sphere

  • Career Achievement Award – For a PRSA Thoroughbred Chapter member (current or past 5 years) with 15+ years of experience

  • Communications Impact Award – For a mid-level professional with 5–15 years in the field

  • Rising Star Award – For early-career professionals with 2–5 years of experience

  • Outstanding Student Award – For a current college student involved in PR through internships or organizations like PRSSA

Nominees should demonstrate strategic excellence, creativity, resilience in overcoming challenges, and a commitment to advancing the profession.

“Each year, our chapter celebrates the incredible talent driving communications in this region, from rising stars to seasoned leaders,” said Katie Neal, President of the PRSA Thoroughbred Chapter and Principal & CEO of Katie Neal Coaching & Consulting. “These awards are our way of recognizing not just great campaigns, but the people behind them who are building trust, inspiring action, and making an impact.”

Anyone may submit a nomination, including self-nominations, and membership in PRSA is not required. The entry fee is $35 for PRSA members and $45 for non-members. Nominations must include responses to four criteria questions and may include up to three supporting materials, such as press clippings, work samples, or videos.
