Accreditation in Public Relations
APR is a true measure of excellence in the communications profession. The APR credential demonstrates professional competence, excellence in the practice of public relations and communications, and a commitment to ethical practices.

APR is a two-part voluntary credentialing program for communications professionals. It is designed to demonstrate your knowledge of the critical advanced PR and communications skills that deliver value in organizations large and small

Established in 1964, the Accreditation Program is the profession’s only national post-graduate certification program. The Universal Accreditation Board administers the APR credential and coordinates all activities related to this program.

All APRs are required to complete continuing education programs, pursue volunteer work or pursue other professional development activities to keep their skills sharp and their Accredited status active.
