About our Speakers:

Nancy Wiser, APR, Fellow, PRSA, is most in her element when analyzing, developing and managing strategic communication programs and counseling top executives. She also thrives on the creative process. Her experience is wide and deep, having offered marketing and public relations counsel and services to organizations since 1982. Nancy has owned and managed marketing firms since 2000, working with a wide range of businesses and institutions. She founded Wiser Strategies in 2011. The firm has established a specialty in the energy, environmental and infrastructure sector and works with governments, professional service firms and companies of all types.

Sally Baker, APR, is the director of marketing and public relations for the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the world’s largest professional association for equine veterinarians. Her responsibilities include the development and execution of communication strategies, media relations and brand management. She also facilitates the AAEP’s award-winning media relations On Call Program, which provides a media-trained equine veterinarian to contribute horse health updates during nationally televised horse racing events like the Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. Sally received her BBA in marketing and communications from the University of Kentucky and earned her APR in 2002. She is a past president of the Thoroughbred Chapter.

Julie Booher, APR, is the chief strategy officer for PepperPointe Partnerships located in Lexington, Kentucky. She has more than 10 years of experience in brand management, public relations and marketing communications working with corporate and brand leaders to create platforms, programs and partnerships that deliver on a company’s purpose and make a positive impact in the world. Inspired by PepperPointe Partnerships’ mission to unite doctors to protect patients through personalized care, Julie has been instrumental in the development and growth of the dental service organization since joining in 2018. Julie led the formation of PepperPointes’ four group practices in 2019, 2020, and 2022 (whichh includes more than 150 doctors and more than 135 office locations), helping to ensure the preservation of doctor ownership, practice legacies and thriving cultures. Julie oversees doctor relations, strategic planning, doctor recruitment, all business development efforts, and the PepperPointe Leadership Development Program. A native of Shelbyville, Kentucky, she graduated from the University of Kentucky’s College of Communications with a bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communications.
