R. J. Corman Railroad Group seeks a Communications Specialist at its Nicholasville, KY headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of accurate and timely public / internal company communications.
  • Seek opportunities to promote R. J. Corman companies and their successes internally and externally
  • Develop and relay the company’s voice in a professional, accurate, and consistent manner, both internally and externally, across a variety of platforms (e.g. websites, marketing documents, etc.); propose content updates and modifications accordingly
  • Collaborate and contribute to the goals and strategy for the company’s internal and external communications
  • Propose and prepare effective content for a wide range of marketing material, including bid proposals, speeches, project reviews, etc.
  • Oversee the company’s social media platforms, including content scheduling and responding to inquiries
  • Gather information for and construct engaging weekly articles for publication on the company’s intranet, such as wellness articles, safety tips and employee spotlights.
  • Coordinate and write a wide range of materials in support of accurate, detailed communications for fostering internal employee relations, external public relations and marketing efforts
  • Proofread and edit various designs and communications including exhibits, displays, brochures, invitations, flyers, business cards, advertisements and promotional materials
  • Organize and complete multiple projects with competing deadlines, and prioritize to meet the needs of internal and external customers
  • Collect data from all electronic communications platforms to use for analysis, reporting, and strategy
  • Perform various other duties as assigned to support overall department efforts

Minimum Requirements

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, Masters preferred
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication
  • Well-developed computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and various social media sites
  • Experience with online content management systems (CMS)
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal relations skills and comfort with interfacing with all levels of management and personnel, customers, vendors and community leaders
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit team, as well as independently
  • Possess an extremely strong attention to detail skill set to achieve the required level of accuracy

Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate travel required among company and customer locations
  • Lifting of up to 50 pounds in the movement of equipment and materials

Environmental Conditions:

Performs duties in multiple environments including office, outside settings, in and around moving vehicles and equipment.
